Frayed after 1st wash

I purchased this pair of shorts after having a pair of avalons for a number of years. I was hoping the ridge shorts would be just as good…. While the material is nice and soft the pair I was sent frayed in a small rectangular area on the front after washing them but before I even got a chance to wear them. I can tell these would be nice shorts but the material doesn’t seem to be the best. I can’t recommend them for the money spent. This was disappointing.

Nice quality shorts. Reminds me more of swim trunks though than athletic shorts. Every time my husbands wears them I think he’s wearing his swim shorts out in public.
